Well i put some stubs in the rear tires of my Polaris Trailboss and took my 5 year old out in the couple feet of snow we got over the weekend and she handles pretty good... didnt get stuck even in the deep snow.....

Now im thinking maybe it might be worth while to grab up one of these ski kits to see if it makes steering even better...... anyone own a pair.... are they worth the extra cost... or will it only steer about as good as my front tires???

i made a ski kit for my banshee. almost identical to the atski one. it was heavy steering, and didnt work nearly as well as i thought it would. i ended up hitting a drift and the skis flipped right under my quad and i bent one of the brackets. and mine were made much stronger then those ones. i had to toss the front end in the back of my buddys truck and sit in the back and hold it from falling out. while we dragged it home. i ended up getting a running enticer for very cheap and have had a lot of fun on that.

My trailboss seems to drive good thru the snow... i even took it down the snowmobile trail... i was just wondering if having skis on the front instead of tires would make it steer any better???

How did you make the brackets? were you using the skidoo precision skis???

if u have front disk brakes, u could throw plastic zip ties thru the hole int he disk brake and keep the skis from rotating all the way around

the ATSKI looks like the skis wouldnt be able to flip around... they have some sort of thing to attach the skis... from his videos it looks like they work pretty good if you get the precision dual carbide skis...

Cant afford to buy a sled... and its just another thing to break.... I have two huge fields with enough snow to make a whole track in them.. the people who clear walmart and home depot and a bunch of contracts dump there snow in my field... so i dont really even need to trail ride... im just thinking for about $200 more dollars.. it might be worth it??? i cant buy a decent sled for less then $1000...

thats crap, you can get old sleds for way less than that. not gonna look like a racer thats for sure though lol

Ive looked and looked...and in my area... inless a want a piece of sh*t with ripped seat, and some small issues.. its $1000... even for 1987 bravo its $1000... might get one for $800... but around these parts its a different market for sleds.... i live in sled country... and as soon as the snow hits the ground.. a running sled in decent condition is $1000... i even seen a 70s snowjet on there the other day and they wanted $600.. and it was frankensteined together with a spitfire engine and seat from a polaris...

damn thats sh*tty!!! we got old enticers and stuff around here for under 500 all day.

Its interesting that for sure... but $500 us is $600 canadian... add taxes at the border and the expenses of getting it to central ontario.... its gonna be over $1000 too..
and the best situation for a snowmobile for me would be to buy bombardier....since my mother works at a local dealer..and i get my parts at dealer cost..... they just dont take trade ins on old sleds very often...
