As soon as I spend a chunk on toys this happens .....

Happens to everyone. spend 3k in parts on the supra and she decides she wants new pistons are rings.

Also, the knock on wood routine is ideal but usually if you mention it, your SOL lol. Sometimes i feel like we predict the future. Then again, an original alternator dieing on a 320,000km 02 explorer isn't something to complain about right?

PS: Magic headgasket repair stuff doesn't work. I don't know if anyone's familiar with toyotas 7m-gte/ge but basically, headgasket is their weakness. I've seen my fair share of issues with their headgaskets, no one wins lol. You own one, you WILL do a head gasket at some point -_- . Band-aiding a headgasket just doesn't work.

I see your a YellowBullet member too! I read your thread over there, sorry about your luck. Being that alot of oil has mixed with the coolant (assuming that cause of the color and you stated you have flushed the coolant in the past), are you sure its a head gasket and not an oil cooler failure like some of the guys on YB mentioned? I am not a diesel expert and dont know the 6.0 that well (mine is a 7.3) but wouldnt a headgasket do the reverse, put coolant into the engine oil? Or just overpressure the coolant system and cause the puke tank to overflow? May be worth trying the cooler first. Again, I am not a diesel guy, just trying to help a fellow phuckstick, lol!!

/\/\/\ listening to that dude in the video was painful !!!!!!

there are a few phucksticks over here!

too bad on your luck man. I think on those you have to lift the cab to get to everything too

LOL YB'ers are everywhere ! I sold the truck this morning, I like the truck but I don't love it. I've still got my mustang and my ranger to ride around in ( along with my wife's focus ) so I'm not hurting. I just don't want to put money into a truck with a known list of problems. Murphy's law says that as soon as I fix the oil cooler then the head gaskets would be next. I didn't pay that much for the truck 3 years ago to begin with so I'm good. I think my next truck is going to be a much older ford truck with a gasser, at least that way I can work on it. I am going to miss that all that diesel torque tho !!

It's a shame that they have them problems. That was a real nice looking truck. My boss got a boner over it.lol.I do think it was a smart move to sell it . You don't want to keep dropping all that cash in it.

I say good move Brian,
Let it be someone else's headache.

It's unfortunate it had to come to that but it seemed like a likely outcome.... They're bad about oil cooler/EGR problems and the related headgasket issues that come from those problems.

That's life you know ? I'm not down or depressed at all. Everything happens for a reason and when stuff happens you just try to make the best out of a bad situation. It's a buyers market right now so I'm kind of excited to see what's out there. Thanks for the kind words everyone .

Glad to hear it worked out for you! Maybe you will get lucky and find a deal on a 7.3 powerstroke and not have to go back to a gasser. I have had mone for 10 years and would hate to go back to a gasser, Torque is good! lol!!!

YBTTFMF'S!!!

I do like the boss's duramax trucks. the diesel is a different deal.

"what do you mean there's a trailer back there?"

YBTTFMF!!!!

Only way id put bars or any of the alleged "MECHANICS IN A CAN" sh*t is if you want to spend the time and effort cleaning the cooling or replacing it because the garbage clogged it up.

Funny evil elvis brought a lumina up but my buddy bought some stuff that was about 20 a bottle and had ceramic in it for his g/f's 95 lumina with the junk ass 3400 series. But this stuff did work if you call only having to add water once a week and it was a manifold leak not a head gasket.Theres no way in hell anything in any bottles on the shelf at autozone is going to handle the c/r's of a diesel.

But your issues arent that bad a diesel isnt much harder to do than a gas engine and in some ways easier.

If you can read/wrench a little lol get the topend kit since itll have it all in one shot and have at it bro.Id suggest something like a sealed power kit.

But its not a major deal bro you can do it.
