Are these arms decent (link inside)

thoes a-arms are nice. im gonna get some one day. they are a direct bolt on. you dont even have to get your spindles reemed like if you got Burguards. Dont get me wrong Burguards are super nice, but this is a nice set that cost alot less.

they cost about the same as burgards.....

burgards are 450 + 30 for the reamer
 
Haha, yeah, I just joined yesterday (and bought a Blaster yesterday). I haven't updated my profile yet. I'm in NORTH America (Canada), but not the UNITED STATES of America. I'm in Alberta, about an hours drive from Montana. I'll get them shipped to the border, and pick them up there. WAAAY cheaper for shipping. I'll probably order these today or tomorrow. My '06 Blaster has a nice pipe and reeds, but it definitely needs better suspenders.B-)
 
Those are nice a-arms but for the price burgards are cheaper.you could save alot of money elsewhere.
 
I just installed a used set of those ASR'S I bought off a member on here. They are very nice, and the joints are huge. Another great benefit is no reaming of spindles is necessary like with the burgards.

Keep in mind, despite being +3's, they are for stock length shocks. So if you want to upgrade to longer shocks you'll be having to buy the diamond j shock conversion kit.
 
Yeah, IMHO if you are going to upgrade the A Arms go with a long travel unit like SMS and Burgard offer. Otherwise you are stuck with a short blaster shock limiting your suspension. Burgard and SMS LT units make the use of 16.25" shocks possible. That's what I did anyway. I went all out on the SMS +5 +1 LTs, and Elkas shocks. It should ride like a dream.
 
Yeah, that makes sense. I took off my shocks yesterday, and measured the suspension at full droop, and there is really only room for a shock 1/2" longer than the stock Blaster shock which is about 14 1/4". I've measured lots of other good OEM shocks, (LTZ-400, TRX 450, Raptor 700, YFZ-450), and they're all right around 16" or so. With LT arms, I'd have a much wider range of "affordable" shocks to try.

Am I right that the only real option for a bolt in shock on the front of a Blaster with stock arms is the Banshee units? I don't thing they're good enough to be worth the hassle. I guess I'll go with LT arms.

Does anybody have any strong opinions on ball joints (like the SMS arms use) vs. heim joints (like ASR uses)? My gut says ball joints would last longer, but maybe not.
Thoughts?
 
I've run both balljoints and heim joints and haven't had a problem with either. I prefer the heim joints because they allow move a-arm movement without binding. Those asr a-arms must be pretty good because the company has a lifetime warranty on there products. I believe there the only company that guarantee's there work. You may want to consider that too, just a thought
 
On the topic of those ASR heim joints, due to being exposed is there any particular care for these? You can give em a squirt of oil once in awhile, but then it tends to hold dirt on the surface.
