Anybody recognize this fellow ?

Like I said earlier im in the middle of a rebuild.

It´s my first.. It´s going great, but i have some small errors..


ex. I was cleaning the engine cases and cover and have recently removed the crank earlier..

Suddenly this guy are lying on the table..

It is very difficult to take a really close up so you can see this "texture" of the ring.. Its like a very fine spring, only closed in a circle.. its made of metal. Its a litte over an inch" from side to side.. please note that the flash really lights it up.. it has a normal metal color....


I have looked at various diagram, cant see anything..


Please help tell me what it is and where it SHOULD be located...

looks to be a spring that goes inside of one of the oil seals. they have these to keep tension on the seal itself inside there lips. most likely it goes to one of the bigger seals like crank seal.

once you look at the oil seals and see where it is supposed to go then you can look at what oil seal is missing it.

Ok great! that makes sense! Because i have taken the black plastic off one of them.. because they are gonna be removed.. so properly from that one! so i can actually throw it away because im gonna get new one.. yea sorry the big picture.. i had to in order to have the close details..
