any ideas of an engine swap??

any dirtbike under 300cc or counterbalance, no 4 strokes ( unless its a huge engine like 79xs did) and try to stay yamaha
It would be sorta cool if you could stuff a banshee motor in a blaster. That thing would tear your arms off and beat you to death fast and I dont think it's been done.
how bout a old husky 400 2 stroke motor my friend got one on his shifter cart i got a kx 100 on mine

I have bias opinion since I own and work on a lot of 70s/80s Yamaha XS bikes... There are lots of cool engines to swap... but price and the amount of work it takes will all come into play. I have seen a lot of XS650 motor swaps into dirt bikes for hill climbs. There is a very large aftermarket for the motor. The biggest problem is that the motor will need work.. My 550 motor was 150 bucks... All the tuneup parts: 300 bucks (newer set of carbs, intake boots, coils, valve cover gasket, sprocket)
That being said, I think a XS650 would be a cool swap.. but i have no idea how "useful" the quad would be? just keep in mind its a tall motor.
Engine : 21 inches tall... about the same hight as my 550 motor.

That's funny, I was thinking about one in a Warior. I had a XS650 way back that I put 20,000 miles on in one year. Rode it till weatherman said it was 32* out.
