bought a mistreated blaster about two months ago. Replaced crankshaft with new seals and a new top end. After two hours of breaking in the piston it fried. Now I'm on my second build and rebuild the carb. The mods on my bike is a size 67 piston with stock header and silencer with a new 250 main jet, stock air filter with no lid. Bike is running but seems very sluggish on 1st and 2nd gear but due to improper carb adjustments I'm guessing. Noticed that there was some oil on top of my piston after the heat cycles and my first ride. My exhaust tip was some what wet and it smokes a bit now but it doesn't smell harsh. Just smells like a normal two stroke and it stops for a bit and comes back for a bit. On my second ride I noticed that it wouldn't rev back down to normal after opening the throttle to 3/4 for a bit . Also have oil coming out from the stator side. Could it be the crankshaft seals? Need help very stressed and can't find any leaks with my leak tester. Thanks and sorry for the long essay lol

If there is oil coming out, you can bet there's air getting in.

What method was used to test for air leaks and how long did it hold the required pressure.

A hanging idle and an issue of oil tells me you may have a leaky crankshaft seal.

Do not start it up again.it sounds like ur stator crank seal blew out and possibly the clutch side too if u r seeing extra white smoke come out. U also have to make sure a 2 stroke motor is air tight and leak free after a rebuild before you ride it. It sounds like u need to crack open those cases again and start over:(

No trust I drained the gas out of the carb already so it's just sitting there till I solve the problem. I had it tested at 7 psi and it drop one psi per 10 min. Sprayed soapy water on all seals and where the two cases split and couldn't find any bubbling. Does it matter if it's tranny oil that's leaking? And if it's just the crank seals do I really need to split cases? Or do I only do that if I need to replace the crank bearings?

U can put the seals on without cracking the cases but its a lot easier to split them. Did u use any pc 03 grease on the seals? If not do it this time

You do not have to split cases to replace the seals, you do need to remove the clutch and stator covers to spray those seals with the soapy water to detect them leaking. It may also be the collar to crank leaking on the clutch side ?
The test will reveal that, and its fixable with some yamabond between collar and crank

Actually my mechanic replaced them when I had him change the crankshaft. So i wouldn't know if he added grease to the seals. Would I have to split cases to fix the the collar of the shaft ?

No, collar and both sides seals come out without splitting the cases. Only the bearings and crank require splitting.
