any alternative ways to check for air leaks?

are there any alternative ways to check for air leaks without a leakdown tester? Maybe squirt the possible are leak spots with soapy water while its running or with carb cleaner or something to see if the idle goes up? IOr what are some cheeap ways to make a leakdown tester? I just dont have money to buy one right now.

there are some gheto ways to check it but you are better off ordering a leakdown tester from slickerthanyou he sells great testers and get's them out to you really quick for cheap!

A leak tester is the most reliable way to do it . They don't cost much. You can find a good one from the link in my sig.

Spray some carb cleaner where there are gaskets. If the engine idles higher and higher that would be were it is. But there might be another spot so keep on checking.
