Hey all First post and its why my blaster will not start

It's an 97 or 98 I'll get the exact year if its needed.

As far as I know its all stock except the plastic and handlebars.

I road it thanksgiving weekend before I bought it and it would start up every time, ran great so I bought it. Took it home and took it out on a Saturday did fine and on Sunday it didn't start. in looking into it I don't have spark I was told it was the coil so I replaced the coil, boot and spark plug. That didn't fix it. I downloaded the manual and went through the no start diagnostics nothing jumped out to me as bad but there are some issues.

The issues are
1. ignition switch is missing looks like they hard wired it
2 the headlight switch is gone as well as the run stop switch
3 the headlight was wrong and was ducked taped on and wires were just twisted together and looks like they may have touched at one point all tho the headlight switch wiring is not cut up may have not worked for some time.

I'm going to go through the wiring again. Any help would be nice Id like it to run so I can focus on putting it back together.

Thanks
Alex

Has the tors been removed ?
if not diconnect it, just remove the tors "relay" (next to the cdi don´t get them confuised)

the lighting stuff doen noting to the ignition side (there differente circuits )

if all goes bad you can build a harnesse you only need 3 or 4 wires to get it going

Good luck
Nuno

Sounds like you have quite a setup there, haha. I definitely suggest you make sure your ON/OFF switch is connected and on.

Maybe your first mod should be a new wiring harness/controls? Sounds like the PO really butchered it :(

So I disconnected the tors relay i hope. Its called the cdi unit in the manual.
I also checked out section seven in the blaster manual. And went through the no spark diagnostic to no avail. i think my biggest problem is the lose wires

Two things
1. how can i bypass most equipment to make it start
2. anybody have any other ideas on what to look for

I do plan on putting the bike back together just don't want to spend tons of money just making it run when it ran before as is

Thanks

all you need for it to run is the cdi hooked up, and the orange wire going to the coil, the black/white wire should be unhooked, if you ground it it will shut the machine off there are/were wiring diagrams for this on the site befor try searching around

ok ok First of thank you all for the help between the searching posting and the blaster online manual we made it happen.
everything works just need to buy the parts to put the bike back to stock on the handlebars.

It turned out the wire mess upfront was the issue two wires got plugged in and would not let it spark. on doing every test i could find and unplugging everything still no spark i pulled the two wires apart and wallah she started sparking and started right up.

I plan on putting the handle bars back together "eBay"
and doing everything maintenance wise and ride it

Thanks again I'll defiantly be on here happy holidays merry Christmas
