I need help with my blaster, it has this really wierd problem. Every now and then it seems to lose power as im riding, even when i am giving full throttle it doesnt want to gain speed, but then after a litttle bit it goes back to normal. This keeps happening and i dont know why.

its really wierd it doesnt sound like its sputtering it just seems to lose half its power as if its bogging down, and when I give it alot of throttle at one time it takes it a second to kick in and when it does go it doesnt have much power.

do you still have the oil injection? maybe the pump is failing and sometimes the oil doesnt get to the motor....correct me if im wrong which i i could be very wrong lol, also the spark plug, it gets a lil flooded maybe?

Well the guy i bought if off said he bought a new carb for it and it isnt the stock one so I have no clue whats up with it. At least I dont think its the stock one, its a mikuni carb. So it might be the spark plug?

it could very much be the spark plug, it isnt burning all of the sh*t(lol) and it gets a lil flooded, this happen to me,i changed the spark plug and it fixed

alright i will try changing the plug, thanks. Lol i was begining to think my carb was just screwed up cause I cleaned it and everything but it still had the same problem

One more thing, my blaster doesnt like to idle and my idle screw is very finicky as in it only works sometimes, this is very annoying also lol. Would this be related to the plug also?

no its not the spark plug!! lol but mine did something like that it would bog down but it was cutting out just a little bit you could barely notice the cutting out then eventually it totally lost spark and it was the stator coil going out slowly but it could be something else possibly

that happens to me too,the idle screw works sometimes only, but so far mine is ok idling, all i can tell you is to try new spark plug, other than that i dont know, i only know basic stuff.

it could be the spark plug, becuz somethin similar happen to me and i changed the spark plug and it worked

ok well i dont think it is but you could try but if it still happens look into what i said cause thats the same problem i was having but ill talk to you guys later got to go watch my steelers kick some ass....later

Also make sure that you have everything tight on you intake tract. Make sure the clamps around the carb are tight, and check all the bolts on the intake manifold. And make sure your coil wire is not broken or melted or something.
It is always a good idea to eliminate all the simple things first.

mikuni IS the stock carb. if its a 26mm, the guy lied to you.

ok well I tried a new plug and so far it seems to have helped the problem alittle bit. It didnt seem to do that much though, even with the new plug my blaster seems to have almost no low end power unles i have it revved up insanley high. For instance when i try to accelerate by just gunning the throttle it seems to take a bit for it to really kick in and make me get moving fast. To get it to wheelie i cant just gun the throttle, i have to get moving and keep pulsing the throttle to get it to rev high enough. Another thing is that when im going in 3rd gear for example and i turn sharpley to whip the rear end around it doesnt keep any power it seems to bog down then after a bit it gains the power back, its annoying as hell. This happens sometimes when i shift up in my gears also

yea i was begining to wonder if it was the clutch, so these are sure signs it is slipping?
