So I'm replacing the stator coils on my '85 Moto4 200, I replaced the coil that looks like a magnet wrapped in fabric with a wire coming out, and I'm trying to replace the other coil that is like a black box with 2 wires coming out, problem is, The wires coming out of the old coil are green and brown, and the new coil I bought has a red and a black wire, black obviously ground, but would I solder it to the brown or the green old wiring?

I smashed the old coil box apart to see where the green and brown wires went, (one would be ground and the other would be power) but that didn't help at all.

any suggestions?

you smashed the trigger?? why on earth did you do that?? I have neber heard of one going bad. Dont quote me..and double check but I believe all it does is send a signal by completeing a circuit, so in my mind it wouldn't matter which way you hooked it up.. try connecting a meter to the 2 wires and see if it comletes a circuit, then try it with the magnet.
