Alomst done with my rebuild. got 2 Q's

Ok when I look at my reeds they do not fit tight to the flat plastic thing. You can fit a playing card between the two. Should they be tight sealing it shut on the down stoke? or is this small gap normal?

2nd I have decided do away with the oil injection system but I left my oil pump in, I just took the gear out. Do I cap the fittings where the lines went in and out of the pump or do I leave them open? I am going to silicone the litlle pc they ran through at the case is this ok?

New reeds should be tight. I put silicone in the inlet of the pump to seal it and made a new gasket that blocked off the case. Don't forget to plug the oil line at the carb.
