should i drill holes in my stock airbox? i ride my blaster in all kinds of conditions so what do you think i should do?

i think if they are small holes it would not really make to much of a differnce in what confition, i am thinking about drilling a few in mine, in sand it is something to look at thou

I'D SAYYYYYYYYYYYYY
go ahead and do it, i did that with a 100% stock blaster when i first got one like 10 or 11 years ago and it didn't mess anything up...

only thing that you really ever have to worry about is taking your airbox lid off..cuz in muddy conditions that isn't so hot of an

I would maybe try taking the air box lid off first. If you drill hole your more than likley gonna get mud in there. Either way, to get the most benifits from either holes or the lid off your probably gonna need to rejet a little. Goodluck!!

i have my lid off and i do sometimes go through some puddles. i wouldnt say there deep, but like more than half way of the tires and sometimes fast. this got me thinking if i should do some little mod so if water gets in the box, it cant go down the air intake. i acualy cant remeber what it looks like, it may already have that. i have no idea. I WANT MY BIKE BACK JESUS f*ck ITS BEEN TO LONG. i like acualy havent had it here since ive been with these forums, which is a bumer cuz i could have done a bunch already. geting it back this weekend.

i dont have a lid and i have holes and im doin really good lol

They make plugs that go into the holes that have filter material attatched. If you install these with a little air filter oil on them this is the better approach.

you gotta go thru a lot of mud to get in in the airbox.... took mine thru a pond. with the lightness of the blaster and air-filled tires, it starts to float before it gets water in the airbox.

i got my blaster about a month ago and it didnt come with the air box lid should i buy one just to be on the safe side i sometimes go through puddles fast but not a lot only when it rains.

As long as you keep your air filter cleaned and oiled, you shouldn't have a problem. I don't run a lid on mine either and I've never had a problem

yea i got a K&N so would i be safe with the air box lid off cause i dont got 1 i ride trails and sometimes sand

a you should be good, but you could be better. buy an outterwears pre-filter that goes on the filter, and another outterwears pre-filter air box lid cover. make sure your jetting is right because its getting more air. are you running a oil block off kit (pre-mix) if not i would do that too. here are links to the pre filters you need.

its well worth the $40.00 your gonna spend. great in sand and on the trails. sorry i could only find them at different sites. maybe your mx shop can order them together.

like i said i have both of these pre-filters on mine, and my wifes blaster and we clean our filters about every 3-5 rides depending on my dusty/dirty it is. these are great.
