like the title says my new carb i got is a 28mm flate slide and was wounder how or if i can adapt to my air box since the factory tube wont fit over the mouth of the carb. so is there a bot or something or do i need to run a filter on the carb with a outterwear cover???

Bob, if you're trying to start that blaster without a filter, it's going to be running really lean and may be your revving troubles in your other thread.
it must have a filter on it to run correctly.

a trip to homo depot or lowes will set you free....

the adapter you're after is commonly called a "fernco" fitting.
you'll need it to fit whatever size pipe is recommended in the link above, and the other side for whatever the back of your carb measures.

also, check that pipe and airbox for mouse nests, i saw you say it's been in a shed for quite sometime ?
it will act just as you describe if that pipe is blocked.
pull the pipe off the cylinder and quickly see if it will rev, do not run it long like that, just a quick test.

Dem rotten mice have a lot to answer for!

Started up the other day and Momma mouse hurtled to her death against the shed wall.

Beat her to the delivery room.
