Hey guys.. I bought a blaster about 2 months ago blown up and i finally got a chance to rebuild my top end on my blaster. I ran into a couple problems which i really think it just comes down to the fact my air filter box boot wont hook up to my carb because boot is to small it seem which is i think causing it to not start or idle unless im tapping the gas and i cant give it more than 1/4 to 1/2 throttle when im in gear riding it or is this all because it has to break in?.

Is there some type of adapter i need to have to fit carb onto air filter boot?

Any help is appreciated. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE I:I

No that is not stock, stock is a 26mm mikuni.

There is a place to find the part you need... I think... Hopefully someone can chime in with it I:I

Dont run it without the airbox being hooked up, there is a reason it's sealed

ive been ichin to get it together and now i cant ride :( gonna call my yamaha dealer and see what they have.

Buy a CFM airbox on eBay. Tell them you need a boot for a 28mm carb. Order a uni air filter too. Both can be bought for around $150

Do not ride without the air box hooked up or you will be doing another re-build very, very soon.

Have you performed a leak test and heat cycles on the fresh build?

26mm to 28mm isn't that big of a difference, and very doable
use either a heat gun/blowdryer or boiling water.
get the rubber fairly warm, stretch it over the back of the carb and allow to cool.
