Advice on frame swaps..... Help soon please!

Why and how have the frames from 03+ changed from 89-02. I want to swap my frame with the newer 03+ I have it as a project but its a 89 and I dont know if it will fit the motor and everything, it looks the same from a far so i cant tell, can someone help me, or is it just the plastics wont fit? I have the engine, carb and everything running just need a frame. Also will the wheels and suspension work? It will be upgraded when I get the money but I want a running project when I am not working on it.

Just explain if I switch the old frame with new one what will happen that will catch me up, or will it all just snap up but the plastics? Im in need of some advice before I purchase, hes throwing me a good deal and its posted on here for sale so I kinda need a answer soon. I understand im clueless so add detail or link me up, I trust you guys so let me know what you are thinking or what you know

I dont think the frames are different, but the wiring, and some bolts and other misc. parts on the motor are different. I would wait for a second opinion, but i think your good doin the swap.

thanks guys, I am going to do it Im pretty sure that way I can easily upgrade it im sure especially because Im looking at better brakes,shocks,and also upgrading electrical wiring, so it seems like this is gold.

sounds like you got a good list of future mods. I'm glad to be seeing more and more people showing intrest in suspension mods before crazy hp mods. Cant go fast if you cant control you ride is my motto.

i just did this in the spring, 01 parts/plastics on an 06 frame
all hardware will bolt on, under hood electrical mounts are different, i cut out the 06 sh*t, and welded a few flat stock bars to match what the 01 had to mount my cdi and regulator
all plastics will bolt right on, i just needed to cut the front hood mount off the bent frame and weld it in place on the frame for the front hood bolt
oh yeah there was a few mounts near the front that musta been for the 03+ hood, ???? i cut them off
all else i the same, plus you'll gain the mount for the rear master cylinder for hydros
