about to paint the frame

Hey, I am planning on painting the frame, i was looking at it last night, whats over the metal? it def. looks like theres some clear coats over the metal? anyone know what it actualy is? clear coats over metal? clear coats over metalic paint?

yeah i noticed that too in spots wear the paint has chiped. i wouldnt worry about it just sand all of it off and go ahead and paint. im starting my frame today. what color u doin?

are youtalking about where your legs rub on the frame wearing the paint away?, if so our clothes rubbing against it acts as iff it it pollishing it poorly, so it gived it a shine, thats why it doesnt rust to bad other than surface
