Ok so last weekend i took my wifes blaster out trail riding and it did great ran good and had no problems i didnt ride this weekend so on sunday i started mine up first kick let it start idling then went to start the onther one but when i went to kick it i had to stand on the kick starter and it slowly went down then after that it would kick freely like it should but wouldnt start it sounds good as it turns over its getting fuel and has a good spark and brand new plug after you get tired of kicking and rest for a minute when you go to kick it again you have to stand on it to get it going again i checked to see of the silencer was clogged but it wasnt was able to check the pipe itself any other suggestions ...... Oh and it is a 1999 model with tors removed and no mods at all straight stock recently cleaned carb (before last trail ride)

sounds like the crank case is full of fuel from leaving the petcock on and the floats are stuck open, apparently from sumthin that happened during the cleaning
after the first kick some of it is going into the pipe, allowing seccesive kicks, then while sitting, it's draining back into the cases

if thats the case...........
your gonna have to fix the carb, and pull the pipe, tilt bike forward and kick till the cases clear otu

I think that is exactly it man when i replaced the cyclendar base gasket when i got it there was alot of fuel in the crank case and the float does need to be set its not bad enough that it pours out of the carb unless the hose is hanging straight down i did notice a little fuel come out of the pipe when i checked the silencer

theres 2 votes within 2 minutes for "hydro locked" !!!!!!

20 - 21.5mm for the float setting, and find out if it's hangin open while your in there, and shut off the fuel when storing it

agreed... always shut the fuel off if its gonna set for more than 30 minutes i say... mine never got hydro locked but it was always flooded and wouldnt start if i left the fuel on... it takes half a second and will save you all that frustration

i never shut my fuel off, on either bike, because then i forget to turn it back on and run out, which cant be good
but then again, if i see even one drop of fuel under it, off comes the carb for a float tuning, if they are properly working and set, with a good float valve, they will shut off completely when the bowl is at the proper level and stay that way till consumption or evaporation calls for more

but shuting them off is the best bet

yep i just set myself into a routine so i dont forget to turn it on... its the first thing i do when i touch the quad and the last thing i do when i put it away
