Hey am new to the site looking for some guidance, sorry if this is the wrong location. So I picked this blaster up on Craigslist $500 runs great needs some work, it's an 98. Keeps leaking from the case somewhere when ever you shut it off... so with all the other misc. I have to do I decided to pull the motor gotta fix some mounts the exhuast so on...start looking at the case it's coming from what appears to be the clutch cover. Any idea what to do? No idea what they did, they made their own block off plate and am guessing the hole is caused from the nut behind it backing off or they did something goofy to remove the injection pump? This is my first 2stroke so. but I know a guy that's good with tig.

My guess is that the block off plate is not blocking off!
No, no the oil is coming from the hole above the plate in the picture. Looks as if the nut came loose and milled through the cover that or someone hole sawed it or something, or the hole is supposed to be there? Not sure first one I've been into but doesn't look right either way. I'm just finding best way to fix this, new cover weld it shut? Doesn't look like there's anything there in the way clearance on the nut is a little tight but doable I think.

My eyes did not do me justice, I did not notice the hole.

It is not supposed to be there, that need fixing.

It is gonna have to be dismantled and repaired, of the case replaced.

I have never seen that happen before!

Probably be cheaper to get new clutch cover.
While you have cover off replace crank seal, very cheap PREVENTive maintenance !! (then do stator side) seal collar to shaft.

Find a parts diagram to be sure correct parts are in place on crank. Pay attention to timing marks for counterbalancer.

Yeah I already got it apart and realized the hole. I have a buddy that could weld it up for like20$ so think that would be the way to go...all else fails guess I'll have to get a cover, alright. Thanks for all the help guys.
