does anyone run these?? the widening kits like on ebay??
If so i was wondering if you could trace the brackets for me on a piece of paper, scan it and email to me, must be a good trace nothing sloppy,
Your probly thinking, whats in it for me?? well you would recieve a set for yourself to sell, keep, or trade for something cool!!!

im not looking to mass produce these and sell them just make a couple sets, one for me and maybe a few more to trade for some cool parts, help a brother out, the CBR blaster needs to be wider!

I was just on their web site (again). The site used to state “Patent applied for” but now it does not mention a patent at all. This leads me to believe that their patent was denied. If that is the case then there is nothing that makes this “wrong”.

For your information, a patent search can take up to a year. Then the patent process from there to obtain a # can take up to 2-3 years from there. The time in between still is regarded as the original applicant right to produce and protect the product.

Put yourself in their place. You take the time to come up with and produce a product. Pay liability insurance and marketing. You would be somewhat pissed if there were others out there "STEALING" your idea. Of course if you do not have your own business that deals with this kind of stuff on a daily basis as I do, then you probably don't have a clue as to what I'm talking about.

pittboss, I see your point, and it may be valid, if they do in fact have a patent. My cousin (an ME) has multiple patents on what are now commonly known as 'crocs' shoes, and he's been fighting those A-holes in court for years, and will eventually get big bucks from them. He had those types of shoes (although he had not yet marketed them very well) years ago, and crocs stole them from him. Has to do with manufacturing in china, yada yada....long story, big company tries to screw the little guy.

Anyways, assuming these things weren't under patent, it would still probably cost you more than $220 (the price, shippped, for the front kits) in hard ware, time, effort, etc. $220 is not a bad price at all for what you're getting. Look at all this:

Sure, you could make something to do the same thing yourself....but even if you made half a dozen sets for you and your buddies, you probably wouldn't save much money at all and it would take a ton of time!!

I'm all for making sh*t yourself and not buying bolt ons, but in this case, I'd say going with one of these kits would be much less hassle than DIY!!

I am a ME, work with a patent attorney and I currently hold a half a dozen patents myself. I've been thought this process and am currently going thought it again.
The point I was making was that normally people do not remove a tag stating "Patent pending" but will replace it with "Patent XXXXXXXXXXX".
Anyway the kits could be made for less that $30 not including design and fabrication time.

i dont think theres anything wrong with saving a few bucks.
i would be interested in one of these kits

the chineese thought the same thing about ATV's, DVD's, pitbikes, Purses, shoes, clothes, and hundreds of other items that are sold around the world for almost nothing. it doesnt make them right by trying to do something cheaper.

personally i wouldn't risk my life or my ATV to those things. let alone a cheaper knockoff version made in some other guys garage because he was saving a buck and "hooking up" his friends. please note, the original version was also made in some guys garage because he had enough $$$ to buy a CNC machine and thought he would try some cheaper alternative to doing it the right way. eventually those will fail, and that unlucky person will have some serious injuries to deal with because of the desire to save a buck.

this same theory also applies to that idiot that thought wheel spacers were a safe and viable means of making your ATV wider.

if you got enough people together to chip in on the metal it would be fairly cheap, like me i wana make a arms not mass produce them just help the people out that want to do stuff to their blasters but dont have a fortune to spend
