Hey guys, glad I found this forum.
Nobody I know even has a Blaster. So they can't help me.

I start my engine up, kick it into first. Once i hit 4th gear, it starts bogging.
Sometimes in the beginning of the gear, sometimes in the end, sometimes the whole thing. Then I might upshift and that gear could be fine, or it may also bog, same thing down shifting. Only 2 gears that never bog down are first and second.

One of the studs on my exhaust fell out so i figured that was it, so when i replaced that, i noticed the people who owned it before me didn't put a gasket in between the engine and the DG exhaust system. So i replaced that and figured yay my fourwheeler is fixed, it worked fine yesterday with little bog and I was like "ok, that better". But today I got on and its worse than before i replaced the gasket.

also something i'd like to know:
Proper oil to gas ratio for my blaster (auto mixer is broken and removed)

I need to know anything that can possibly be wrong with it. Anything I can change, replace, clean, ANYTHING!

I bought this thing 2 years ago for $400! (the people thought the engine was gonna go {hahaha Suckers} under my breath i just said, its a yamaha, buy it)
It would be a shame to see it go to waste.

Thanks in advance for any help! back to the picnic.
Happy Labor Day everyone :)

did u try cleaning your carb? it could b some thing with your float not giving it enough gas or some thing .. i run 32:1 with good oil i havent had any probs ..

might have to try that (again) lol.
Its rather annoying but guess it's gotta be done.
anything else that could be causing it to bog like crazy in 3-6th gear?

I mix mine at 32:1
I agree with Ron, clean your carb, and clean everything, heres a link- http://www.blasterforum.com/do-yourself/254-how-clean-your-carbureutor.html

It may be a pain in the butt, but that could be your problem
Go out and take off your air box lid, that could be the problem too, before you clean your carb try the air box. Your blaster may be starving for some air, so it might need a little more, go out and try that and get back to us! good luck!

hey you live in NY, just stop by and I'll pay ya to make it stop boggin! :P
lol gonna go check the air box and clean the carb.
How often should the carb be cleaned?

ok the carb is all apart, Following the above guide.
Having everything off the carb would it be safe to pressure wash the carb? (to get all the gas and junky stuff off)
or just carb cleaner?

also would it be ok to blow the stuff off/out with an air compressor?

i wouldn't clean the carb with a pressure washer .. yeaa that's what i do, clean the carb and then shoot some compressed air threw all the holes and what not...

don't use water to clean the carb, stick with carb cleaner. Check your main jet too, see what its got in it, might be to big.

all apart and cleaned, how should the slide be? all the way tightened?
this thing was leaking gas for a while so its getting too much. How do i fix that?

sorry i'm not that smart about this stuff :P I just ride, dont normally have to fix them >.<

The main jet is the stock 230.

ohhh boy...the bottom 1/3 of my air filter (underneath the seat) is soaked with what smells like gas. and below that theres a little drain area filled with a black substance, smells like gas but not pure, like watered down dirty gas.

any ideas? what should i clean?

also the area after the reeds is soaked with gas, gas was coming out the engine/exhaust area but i got the gasket and fixed that. but I think its running too much gas through.. So all I should have to do is adjust the air/gas screw. But you guys tell me :P

Sounds like it could be a fuel delivery problem possibly a jetting issue try cleaning the carb?
