88' blaster project help

[88' blaster]

got this 88' blaster traded my 83' kdx 200 for itI:I has some problems. open for any tips or help.

list of problems....

no spark
cant get it in gear(after clutch worked on):-/
clutch kinda works
frount brakes stick
back brakes dont work
air intake does not fit on carb

any help would be awesome....

Was just at his house, definitely needs a good amount of work but nothing you all couldn't help with. I gave him my advice at his house.

No spark could be a tors problem. Try unplugging the keyswitch, tors unit on top of the carb, and the handle bar kill switch. If it's not one of those grounding out the source coil it's either the source coil or the ignition coil.

What kind of carb is it that the intake doesn't fit on it? pics!

The front brakes probably can be lubed up with lithium grease and freed up. Usually lube the cables and lube the cam assemblies and they'll free up.

Back brakes are finicky... the caliper has to come apart and get cleaned out by hand and then most of the time they still don't work exactly right. If you lube them up excessively they leak down on the rotor and they won't stop. Id you don't lube them up enough the automatic adjuster locks up and you lose brakes after a few hits. They're finicky...

the kill switch is gone its broken the wires for the tors system are cut thanks for the help thoe really usefull and it will not let me post pics

I don't think your tors is disconnected... I think I recall seeing it. Make sure all of this is done:

the blue wire on it was from me i was going to reconnect it

i suggest you try lubing the front brakes, and talk to awk and get a GSX-R rear hydro brakes set-up he sells, from what i hear they are awesome, and awk is a great guy too, just shoot him a pm

I mentions AWKs GSXR brakes, they are for the back brakes. The front I suggested getting those hubs for the banshee brakes to mount on blasters. Anyone agree?
