.50 over ring gap clearance

The gap should be .004" per 1.000" of bore.
Example: if your cylinder has a 2.500" cylinder bore
2.x .004 =.010
Hope this helps.

Those are the figures that Wesico gives. Measure your bore as close as possible and do the math. Convert fractional to decimal. It's not exactually rocket sceince, in fact out of the last three Wiesco pistons I'v done, only one ring needed to be touched. And others on BHQ have encountered the same thing. Excessive gap isn't good, to small could be disasterous.

Ohh okay. Ive heard of people running "Loose Engines". Drag racers running their pistons loose so the engine does less load on the crank or on some thing else.??? My uncle told me this. And some people running bigger pistons sounds dumb but its true???
