I'm going to pick up a Blaster next Monday, guy says everything works fine, but when he bought it, it was blown up. And when he rebuild it, 4th gear didn't engage, but you can shift right over it into 5th. Why would this be?

it might not be. idk if for sure thats it or not. i have yet toi ever take appart my tranny. and yea it could cost u at least $1000 ive seen them on ebay for about $700, but thats about the cheepest......
If it's that much I'm not even taking the chance. I'll wait longer for a Blaster. Thanks for that Info.
lol naaaa jk im just messing! if its that, a used part is about 10-20$ at most. if its the whole tranny, like 75 at the most. jeez u newbies are to gullible! lol no part on the blasty is worth like a 1000 other than good shocks!
Lol you had me going man, had me worried. I have a family friend that will pretty much do anything for me as long as I do back breaking labor for him.
haha. cracking the case and messing with the tranny is pretty complicated. but if ur good with this stuff, u can search a vid on youtube that will guide u along. just dont bring it to a dealer, anything is better than that!
Id pick it up cheap youll be splitting the cases i assure you.Not hard just a little time consuming.

I'm pretty new with the inner workings of bikes. But i plan on getting a project bike and just learning from experience.
Big question is how much is he asking and does it have any aftermarket parts or performance mods?
It's pretty much stock other than the wiseco piston he put in when he rebuilt it. I'm giving him 500 and a couple paintball guns.
They aren't that hard to split. Just get a Clymers manual or download , few special tools you have to buy, some you can fab yourself
Long as it runs good, that's a fair deal. What is the overall condition? Does it look like a rat hole?
I've loved everyone I've ever ridden. They're big bucks when their complete and running. X(

That's the link. Doesn't look to rusted or beat up. I'm going over for a ride on Monday like i said. But it's an hour a 30 minutes from my house, since I'm up in Mass. I'm hoping to get it the same day.
