400ex slip on

yeah, i'd buy a jet kit for it, normally moose jet kits and stuff all come with jet guidelines and stuff, i forget how many we went up on the kawasaki bayou when we put a slip on on it

you dont need to buy a whole jet kit, just go to the dealer and get 1 size up,

another thing to do if you havent read on EXriders is to grind the welds out of the inside of the exhaust, lets the air flow better and is a nice way to pick up some more power

tons of people do it on there stock EX's its saves money from having to buy a head pipe

yea just get a single jet from the dealer. and i dont know about the older 400ex but the newer ones suck to start in the winter. if yours has that starting problem might want to go ahead and change out the pilot jet while your in there

actually its not bad in the cold, just choke it a little and it fires right up. long warm up time though, what if i dont rejet will it hurt, i mean i see them everywhere with slip ons and i doubt they rejet. but i might leave it stock, my buddy has a 400ex he has the 440 kit, full pro circuit t4, airbox mod, jet kit , its got some dough into it. and we were riding one day and we drag raced and i won, he almost flipped out lol, i checked the gearing both the same, idk y i won lol.

because he obviously couldn`t drive lol, but I think it would be fine to leave it stock but what would it hurt to go up a size for a lil umph

Yeah, i would bump it up 1-2 sizes. Mine is rich (black smoke), but I would rather be rich than lean. On a 4 stroke, you can burn a valve because fuel is used to keep it lower temp. Also, drill like 4-7/8in holes in your box and jet another size. That will give you better flow!
