hello, i am new to the blaster forum. i have a friend who is selling his 2000 blaster for 400. it has been abused quite a bit. but here are the modifacations-

fmf fatty pipe, pro circuit r-304 silencer, .40 overbore with wiesco piston, jetted carb, aftermarket rear tires, moose handlebar, and oil injection blocked off and TORS removed...

i have rode the bike alot and it runs great, but could use some maintenance. it could be a nice looking blaster if it had some love. what do you think???

if it runs great like you say and you have the cash your stupid not to.... the ugly thing in my sig cost me the equivalent of $600 and im happy with the purchase.

yeah it runs good, but it just is missing some things like the grab bar, tail light (which i dont really need) and the plastics have paint chipping off but yes im getting it, will post some pics when its mine.

if you watch ebay and the forsale forum here you can usually find a set of plastics in good shape for around @125-$175. stock grab bars can usually be found super cheap in good condition also, as for the tail light i've never seen a blaster that still had one on lol

okay, ill take a look. i was thinking of soda blasting the paint off. the 1st owner spray painted them black and my buddy tried powerwashing, scraping, and laquer thinner to get it off. it would make a world of difference in the looks.

spray paint should be banned!!!! give a guy a can of spray paint and he thinks he's picasso

I say if it runs good get it. You can find cheap parts on ebay to fix her up. But be aware blasters are very addictive. My blaster was 4yrs old when i bought it and paid $1200 but I have at least another $1400 spent on it over the years. Yamaha gave them the right name the are a blast.

okay ill try the scotch brite on it... and yes they are lots of fun, i have a kx250 and it isnt good at trail riding so i want the blaster. (rode lots of trails with blasters.)

if you decide not to get it, point me in the right direction. the money is in my hand right now

blasters are addictive for sure...... I bought mine for $200 and it was a 2001 but it had a crack in the crank case. Spent $25 to get the crack tig welded back and smoothed out at a local shop and rebuilt the topend while I had it apart. After that I've got about $1700 in parts laying inmy storage room waiting on a +3 stroker crank and a 35mm carb so it all can go together.... The Best thing about a blaster is I'll have about $2000 in my ported 240 big bore stroker fully modded blaster that should put out over 40+ HP... name another bike you can mod as cheap as a Blaster?

Looks like you gotta pretty good deal. I bought my 03 for 500 and didnt really have anything wrong with it. just needed a carb clean then traded it for my bayou a couple months later... now im tryin to get another blaster lol
