4 pin rectifier wiring

Hi all

Has anyone ever wired a 4 pin regulator rectifier to a blaster before I have the earth pin on the reg,rec earthed to the frame the stator is earthed to the engine my coil is wired as normal and I am using my lighting circuit wire yellow,red to send ac current to the reg,rec I can only pull 5 volts max out of the reg,rec anyone any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Pretty sure you have to float the ground to add a reg/rec, meaning to un-ground that wire at the stator and run it directly to the ground of the reg/rec

Thanks do I run my coil off the reg rectifier or leave that connected to ac voltage, I am only using the lighting circuit wire (yellow) to send ac to the reg/rec should j use the black and red power wire for the coil aswel? , Thanks
