If you can live with losing some ground clearance, i think that this is a worthwhile mod. If anyone is interested, I will explain how to put them on

I would think banshee fronts would be a better option if on a strict budget. You can get a set for $50 shipped and they are a lot softer when set to softest setting. We still have banshee fronts on some of our bikes.
 
They come really close to bottoming out but they somehow stop. I can stand on the front bumper and grab the handlebars and pick the rear end up and it still won't go down any further.
 
I'm gonna try and get my sister to ride this one being I have an 88 lt250r now. She isn't a fan of the rough stuff so I doubt she'll be even using much of the suspension travel at first let alone bottoming it out lol
