Well my crank is here and i hope in a few weeks i will start to full with it.I was just wondering if i split the case to put the new crank in do i have to remove all of the gears and stuff? It looks like you could just split the case and leave the gears and stuff in there and just take out the crank and bearings and put the new ones in.I have a homemade splitter and the tusk crank installer and all the other tools thats needed to do the job.The only trick i see is trying to clean off the gasket stuff off of the case halfs.I know you will have to take the gear off of the crank but what else can you get away with? Also what would you use to clean the crank off with before you install it ?Anybody done it like this before?ThanksI:I

Blaster 20001 How did you do that? It looks to me like the gears would simply fall out of tipped to the side?

The top of the cases where the connecting rod swings around should be relieved with a rotary burr. Most of the cases need to be cut to give the connecting rod clearance. The +3mm crank will change your port timing. To do the jog right, the ports will need to be re-cut. I run 1 base gasket, I do not use the spacer plate or the second gasket supplied with the kit. The transfers are up to high if you use the second gasket and spacer plate.
You can not use 1 gasket without cutting the cylinder head.

Since you are using a power pros pipe, the pipe is designed to work above 10,000 RPM. You have to be very careful where those transfer ports are at. The exhaust blow down time in relation to crankshaft degrees is critical.

you can leave the tranny in place. pull the clutch basket to get the input gear off, then reinstall the basket and idler gear. they'll hold your tranny in place for you as you split the cases. but make sure to remove the final drive gear.
