I'm looking in to a vitos +3 crank and wiseco forged piston but what do you have to get altered in the cylinder? Is the spacer not good enough? Or is it just the ports that need raising/lowering. Will it run ok without altering it as in the uk there is no1 that specialises in blasters so don't know where to go! Thanks in advance
I have a DMC alien pipe (I know they supposed to be bad but want to upgrade after stroker), hi flow aluminium airbox, k&n filter, 38mm pwk flat side I think, bbk (not sure on the make), vitos 72mm piston, Duncan racing pyramid reeds, +4 timing advance

You will not get the full potencial without upgrading many things around that crank. I did mine the right way. Airbox, Bigger carb, better exhaust, and a port job to delete the spacer plate are the main ones. You will see a power gain from a stroker with the spacer on a stock setup but not the full potencial is all. make sure you get some good gaskets. oem if ya can

It's a bbk not sure on the make it could be a vitos but doesn't look like the ones I've seen in the pics tho!

I already have a aluminium airbox and the carb is oversized tbh it's a 38 mm got a aftermarket pipe etc

You will be fine with a spacer plate that comes with the vitos +3 crank.Thats what it is there for. However you will gain alot more if you have it ported and matched for the +3.You may or may not have to relive the cases. They don't need any trenching but may need some minor grinding to clear the rod.I can send pics on where to do it,just p.m. me an email addy. It's a 50/50 shot if you need to or not.I always relive it before hand rather than mock it up just top be sure when it all goes together. Some people talk bad about fmf, they are not a bb pipe but is alot better than stock.Run the dmc and be happy with it till you can afford a nicer setup.I will say if you are running a 38mm carb I would down size to 34or35mm.

if you get that ported for the +3 you will need better exhaust. cpi makes a nice pipe and so does trinity. the cpi bbk pipe is probably the best but runs about 400 bux. chromed. but the best way to go is with the port work. call kenoconnor

CPI pipes are no longer 400.They are 525 or 550 now.The stamped pipes are all gone and they need to be built by hand now and with that price went up.There will be a small wait also to give him time to build it.FYI lol :p

I would get the cylinder modded but I'm over in the uk and for me to ship to us get machine work done then ship back could take months! I've just waited 5 weeks for a vitos piston alone. So was thinking of ordering the crank and forged piston and a few other goodies so when it needs a rebuild I will have everything sat there to do it. I wouldn't mind getting the head mod but same again it will be lots of downtime. Thanks for all your input up to now

In case you are wondering a bit of the ring broke off and chattered around luckily didn't mark the bore!
sicivic i measured the rod against a standard one when the cylinder was off and it was the same length, could it still have a differant crank?

Yes, the rod length doesn't affect the stroke. The distance between the center line of the crankshaft and the center of the crank pin makes it a stroker crank.

Dude, you have a LA sleeve (or CT cylinder). What's the bore size? CT makes a stock bore cylinder with the same port layout and those transfer ports look pretty big for a big bore kit...

That is a stock redesigned head or a vito's head. It's certainly not the "LA sleeve" head but it's not stock either.

The most certain way to measure the stroke is to measure the difference in the height of the piston inside the cylinder at TDC and BDC with the head out.

It's a 72 mm bore size I have since done the oconnor DIY mod to the exhaust but didn't raise the port just cleaned them up but the transfer ports didnt need touching. I'll try to measure the depth at work tomorrow. What would be the most accurate way? The long side of a digital vernier?

That is an airsal cylinder and the airsal uses a 71mm piston if it's a big bore. That is not a ct or la sleeve cylinder.

That looks to be a vitos head but it could also have been painted that grey/silver color??Either way it doesn't matter it can use just about any stock configuration head as long as it is redesigned for the 240,or a 240 head.

Well there you go, an airsal kit.

That looks like a vito's head because it doesn't have the factory yamaha casting marks and the combustion chamber looks just like the vito's.
