Hey Guys,
Brand new here, and just picked up an 04 Blaster today for slim money. It's got a 240 big bore kit, carbon fiber reeds, and full FMF exhaust. My question is regarding the jetting of the carburetor. The previous owner had the big bore installed, and retained the factory jetting on the carburetor. It starts up, but won't stay running without giving it throttle, and runs a little rough when in gear. The guy I bought it from assured me that it was due to the stock jets, and included a jet kit in the purchase. Does this sound right? If I clean the carb and re-jet, will this solve my idle issue?? Any help would be great!

do you knwo what jets you are running?what size carb and try removing jets and cleaning them to remove any gunk build up go from there

Well, to my understanding, it's the stock carburetor with the stock jets... I haven't really investigated yet, as I've literally owned this machine for about 4 hours... assuming everything carburetor-wise is stock, does this sound like a viable reason for it to be running the way it is??

i just put a 240 kit on mine. i am finding that the stock carb is not big enough to supply air or gas for it, i found makuni 34mm carb for 100 dollars brand new havent put it on yet, but after three days of jetting as big as 440 on the main, i have sided with every body here who said the stock is to small
