240 base gasket and regular base gasket?

was wonderin if the 240 base gasket is severly larger then a normal base gasket i know the sleeve is bigger for the piston but the opening in the case never got larger so the base gasket should be the same or am i wrong?... i wanted to check to see if theres any broken reed in my top end but dont wanna order a gasket set off line if the gaskets r the same i can get from my dealer

naw, i do think the opening in the case is bigger, it has to be bored to fit the 240 sleeve, better just get the right one, i broke a reed once and a yamaha mechainic told me it'll get chewed up and spit out, not to worry about it??? i never checked and never noticed any difference in performance like a port was blocked or sumthin

alright then i broke like 2 thats y and the only reason i asked was cuz on vitos site when u go to big bore gaskets the base gasket they sell alone is the same number as the normal one like the part number

well i had a all stock motor then i got a 240 cylinder and head and it all bolted on, the cases do not get touched

yeah thati know i have a resleeved stock cylinder i got from angus at kennedy.... and when he sent it to me he sent me to base gasket but i never rele measured em to the stock base gaskets i think there the same just curious

all blaster base gaskets are the same...it may have trimmed up a bit to fit a cylinder-case matched engine though.
