Hey everyone, new to blasters (quads period). Here's my question. I just rebuilt this thing with new stock crank and a .040 over cylinder. This thing runs great. But, I have to fly through the gears for it not to seem to over rev.
Most of my riding will be in fields and some trails. It has the stock 13/40 sprockets on it also. The rear tires are 18". How can I correct this issue? Dont think I really need all that low end power (seems like low end power) but I may be way out in left field in my thinking.

Do'es it pull hard? One thing you may want check to make sure your clutch is not slipping bad. If it's reving that fast, it should be trying to air the front tires or doing alot of spinning the back tires if the clutch is holding good

What kind of riding are you doing? 18" tires aren't ideal for most trails and more of an MX choice. Just go with a 14 tooth front sprocket first.....it's cheap, easy, and you will feel a big difference in how much you won't have to go through the gears so quickly.......even on 18" tires. From there, you can see how far you want to go. Going up in tires size will dramatically increase your top speed more and slow your acceleration some. The tires are nothing more than another sprocket. Larger tire=more distance covered in the same amount of revolutions as a smaller diameter tire.

Thanks everyone. I got sprockets ordered and will see if I have to go larger on my tires. Most of my riding will be in fields, not a alot of trails right now. I will update when sprockets come in.

New to quads, but I have a rm125 also. Just thought it was reving too quick. Waiting on the 14 tooth sprocket to see if there is much difference. Getting use to it like it is but we will see. Try to find different plastics that I like better now. Any ideas or just start a new thread? Thanks

had to ask, whenever i put someone new on my quad they usually shift waay too soon. a 14t front will space out the gearing for you
