2003 440ex update

i like your ex, im selling mine and getting a crf150r, keeping it for a year and getting a 250f. im getting way more out of my ex than i should. 2500 all together. only that much because i have brand new a arms that are still in bubble wrap and laker custom plastics. that have been out of the box for 2 days never saw daylight. already sold my ex to my friend he will have the money in 2-3 weeks! very excited!!!!

if that's what you want man, i used to be a dirtbike junkie as well but after getting on a racing fourwheeler i haven't even hardly touched my bikes. i still start them all except my 150f (starter going down/cranking slow, top end rattle, smoking a tad)... since the starter started going down it don't crank fast enough to start without pushing it off. i love my 440ex and wouldn't dream of getting rid of it... in the future i do plan on getting a ktm 525xc but i will always keep the blaster and the 440ex.

valves need adjusted or timing chain slappin around in there

btw...i was always under the impression when using a new cam, the valves need readjusted after a "break-in" period, and much more frequently with A/M cams ????

Me thinks whoever told you that hot cams "create" valve noise is yankin yo chain

agreed !!!!!

you better to get's to checkin valve clearence and timing chain slop, or you'll be sellin the blasty to fund a 4 poke top end/head rebuild

no, in the 400ex's the stage 2 and 3 really do... everybody that has stage 2 and 3 on exriders has valve noise no matter how much they adjust their valves. i took the vids mostly FOR the engine noise so i could see what you guys thought

i wouldn't have to sell the blaster anyways!!! lol but i'm going to check valves, and if it turns out to be timing chain then i'm going to put the crf450r timing chain in it (highly recommended due to being thicker and made stronger than the ex chain)...

well, you ask for it.......sounds like my sons old and tired 300 lakota when the cam lobes were all but ground down and the stretched timing chain would have fit my blasty drive chain
