2001 blaster will not start!!! Please help!!

yeah, i like my fmf'er, it sounds nice, even though it wil be replaced by september, it is a good pipe for a blaster with no porting, or headwork, i still think the trinirty racing pipe is the nastiest looking pipe ever, thats what i'm gettin, muhahahahaha

yeah i know, the blaster is currently super stock except for the exhaust. I bought it with the airbox lid off and it does have a K&n airfilter on it right now. i am considering new reeds and reed cage, bigger carb and a possible stroker.I do have a good friend who is a mmi graduate and he recommended me keep the internals stock. he informed me that as soon as i stroke it problems will begin....As far as reliablitiy goes anyway. BY the way does anybody do any trail riding on their blasters???

So I have sold my cbr1000rr and once again have purchased a very clean 2001 blaster. has full fmf exhaust, bored .30 over, i have rebuilt the carb, replaced reeds, replaced piston rings... my blasty will start up on choke only for a couple of seconds then completely foul the plug. it is wet black, a few days agao it was running and it was fouling a dry black but now it will not run but for a few seconds. i cannot figure this thing out for the life of me. it has stock pilot and a 290 main. everything else is pretty much new. when i kick it it will spit and sputter then poof out the exhaust.

Check to see if you installed the reeds properly and check for petrol in the crankcase. I had the same problem, and i just thought the way you said it was it would spit and sputter out the exhaust it could be petrol in the crankcase.

kickstartking,i trail ride my blaster and its very reliable i haven't had any probs with it yet not starting for me and i run a stroker.

ok, so after hours of troubleshooting, the tech found out it wasnt anything i had done wrong it was actually the crank bearing gone bad and was letting air into the motor so now i am going to go ahead and put a new crank in and was wondering if i should put a stroker crank in and if i do what kind of power diff am i looking at getting???

bah, thats garbage, you can mod the internals of a blasty and have it be very reliable still. kidna a odd problem you have there, normally when a crank seal goes it sucks tranny oil and smokes like a biotch but still runs. if you get a stroker crank andthing bigger thatn a +3 will require case trenching, and any stroker needs the cylinder adjusted by a builder for it to be perfect.

ok cool well i think im going with the vitos +3 crank and i will definitely get my head ported to match.... it does come with the spacer and volumizer soo is this a good choice??? also how much difference am i gonna be able to tell that i have switched to the stroker??? oh and its a crank bearing not a seal...

well, i split the case to find out a rod has been thrown in this motor previously and they jb welded the left engine casing... what a cheap way out. i belive my air leak was caused from this jb weld not sealing the stator side and the stator side cranks seal being worn out and suckin air... glad ive gotten to the bottom of this.
