hi eveyone i have to questions. the first question really isnt for my blaster just wondering about it.
1. if i port my engine do i have to jet it if every thing else is all stock.
2. when i break my engine in do i jet it before i break it in or after i do it.

you need to atleast jet up when you port you really need a bigger carb tho.

and you jet at the least rich when you break it in then when its broke it start doing plug chops and take your way down.

jet for porting, and get it close before breakin, we can help you get close with a mod list

1. Yes, you have to jet. But you'd be much better off getting at least a pipe first.

2. Before to the best of your ability.

I dont know I'm a fan of all three. But you cant really benifit without one over the other you'll drive your self crazy. Save up for a while and think about it. Look up trinity racing usa they got some nice hardware for 2 strokes.

thanks and the first question was for a moped. and so i would just need to jet it a little richer brfore breakin? my mods list is
its bored .60 stock cylinder
k&n air filter
boyesen power reeds
and i have to keep my exhaust stock where i live cause of cops and game wardens. but i am gonna gut and shorten the silencer. and im takin the air lid off.

They make aftermarket exhausts with USFS approved spark arrestors. You do NOT have to keep your exhaust stock.

The boring doesnt do much/anything to the power output. The K&N coupled with airbox lid delete does a little, the reeds dont do much but make the throttle response/powerband better.

Id say with your stuff, youd prolly be somewhere around 2 main jet sizes bigger than stock. Maybe 3. I read an article that said the stock exhaust takes to larger main jets pretty well. It said they ran the LRD recommended jetting kit for the stock exhaust (replaces the needle too), and it actually woke it up quite a bit.

well for the exhuast i have to keep stock cause i live in northern maine and you have to have stock exhaust on everything

so when i jet my engine before i break it in do i put the new needle and pilot jet in with going 2 sizes up on the main jet then break it in than do carb tuning and plug chops.

Maine law says,

Each ATV must meet noise emission standards of the United States Environmental Protection Agency and in no case exceed 96 decibels of sound pressure level when measured from a distance of 20 inches using test procedures established by the commissioner.

Here's two PDFs with the exact procedure. I'd print them out and keep them with you. Doing the test wrong can easily show a 10+ db higher result than you are actually running. The official testing guidelines don't leave any room for subjective results. Wind and rain even have to be factored in.

so when i jet my engine before i break it in do i put the new needle and pilot jet in with going 2 sizes up on the main jet then break it in than do carb tuning and plug chops.

yes /\/\/\/\
and proper breakin only requires doing a few "heat cycles"
then some easy riding, you shouldnt be at full throttle where the main jet kicks in, so that shouldnt be a factor

and he already said he's talkin about a moped, not a blaster
i doubt toomey makes moped pipes ???
or did i miss sumthin ????

actully im gonna keep my dg silencer that i shortened on it a just pack it. so add that to the list. wouldni have to go up 3 sizes or still 2.

try 3 to be safe, and work down doing "plug chops" < search on here for that, read and learn !!!!!

well i know how to do everthing allready like jetting it tuning it plug chops all that. just wanted to know before i break it in again cause last time i didnt bother to jet it and it blew up. so this time im gonna do everything right.
