Hello I just bought a 1990 Blaster and it wasn't running when we bought it. It has been sitting in a garage for a couple years. Dumped old gas out put new in. Added new 2 cycle oil. Spark plug hasn't been replaced. Seems to give off a little spark when we tested it. Would not start off kick-start. We push started it down a hill and it started and it was revving really high without even giving it gas. This was while in 1st gear. Tried using kill switch and it wouldn't turn off then turned key off. After that we tried a few more push starts and it would start for a second and then die. Don't know much about these since its our first one. Any help and direction would be great! Thanks!!!

No idea on how to take the flywheel off or where its even at. Dont know how to check the compression either. Any help would be nice!

Oh i was gonna offer my help but thats a little to far! Yeah id start cheap like triple b said take the carb off clean it, buy a new plug i think ngk is br8s and check over all the wires make sure nothings loose or green cheesed. If you can get a compression tester that might tell you alot. i have no clue what the psi should be maybe 120-140

Hanging revs could be stuck cable (not good) or air leak (real bad) DO NOT run it until you figure out why. Using the search function look up "How to make leak down tester" , or a member on here makes/rents them (SORRY all , forgot who it is, senior moment) Do a through inspection of everything on it. Start with the basics, completely dissasemble the carb and clean it, blow ALL passages/holes with compressed air, pay close attention to pilot jet (little holes on side) set float level. Hope I'm not sounding over complicated, but a quad that has been neglected is going to need LOTS OF LOVE (attention).

BTW, did I mention ............. WELCOME TO B. F. !! I:I I:I I:I B)

Oh boy, sounds like it could be a big problem which I hope it isnt. Im not ENGINE savy at all. So I really dont know where to begin.

Thats why I posted the linc to download manual and to AWK 08 trouble shooting guide in post #7. Click your browser on the yellow highlight. Got to start somewhere to educate ones self, otherwise I'd still be on my Schwinn Stingray.
I myself haven't and don't use the download, I prefer the Clymers repair manual, an old fashioned book that I can have right next to what I'm working on.

If you got a non running quad that you thought you could dump gas in and ride, guess you are in for a rude awakening and education.

With effort and work on your part and help from the forum, you'll get it going.

not a fan of oil injection its either to much or not enuff well i should say my from my personal experiences. Just saying premix and you know what you getting. blasters just seem to smoke rings alot

Does your quad have an oil tank under the left rear fender? If so make sure it's full with 2 stroke injection oil. If not mix 2s oil with gas at 32:1 ratio.
