190 PSI compression

hey flotec quick?
i was told i have to run a little premium with the av gas because of some additive that are missing in the av gas.. is that correct??

no run it straight be sure its 100LL not the red colored 115 LL ,it burns clean and dryer than pump gas so jet slightly rich and always run a 32-1 ratio for best lubrication.use a premix that contains a good percentage of castor oil like the 927 and klotz technaplate ..lead is a natrual lubricant and has really good anti detonation properties .also the added oxygen wil l sometimes require richer jetting. the main thing pump gas has that the avgas is missing.. is all the added water =))

the guy who ported my cylinder said he took .035 from the head. i have no idea really what he took off..
my timing is advanced. i have 110 octane in it.

i test rode it yesterday for 5 minutes around the yard and it seemed fine.

now how should i go about lowering the compression?? base gasket or head gasket?

thanks man ill run it stright..

well, running a thicker base gasket (or 2 of em) would prob help the over compression issue, but it would also be detrimental to your port timing and transfer timing.
if anything run a thicker head gasket.
though i have no idea where you'd go about finding such a thing.

look at rjatv motosports.com or westerpowersports or just google it, ebay might even have what you need. might cost you like 5-10 for a kit of em,or go back and retest with only 5 kicks. then see where you're at.

before you start doing al l that ...you had better be positve that 190 reading is correct becuase some testers are way off and innacurate ,take it to a local reputable shop and have them compression test it for you and see if the numbers jive ,ive seen those 30 dollar ones off by 40 and 50 pounds

ya id listen to flotek before you get ahead of yourself. thats a massive reading for a blaster. different if it was a more modern water cooled engine.

did more investigation....the base gasket that was on it when it had 120 psi was a thick metal one.
now it has a stock paper gasket only. maybe i will put the metal one back and see if im back at 120 psi? or maybe ill just ride the sh*t out of this weekend and see how it performs.

base gasket blew out in 5 minutes. i put the stocker back in.... f*ck high compression.

it was pullin the front end up with my +6 swinger.

im ordering a high compression gasket set and a stroker crank.

that metal gasket is probably a spacer plate required for a stroker or possibly a highly cut modifed head ,now your piston is probably nearly smashing into your head wit hthe thin paper gasket and thats why you have the super compression and its blowing out under pressure .probably poor very tight squish clearance this is just my opinion and friendly advise but it sounds like your cruising for trouble until you have more knowledge of the setup
