I have an 05 blaster 200 it starts but only with throttle full. If you let off it dies, but it also doesn't rev up when throttle is held it just barely reaches a normal idle rpms and anything but full throttle it shuts off the carb seems to be clean and gas is fresh I mixed 4 ounces of oil into a gallon of gas. I put in a new spark plug also and just can't figure it out please help!!!

that /\ check for good fuel flow to the carb first,

or.....

sounds like a broken reed petal or the tors system malfuntioning.

tors removal can be found here..........

you'll need to pull the carb and intake to see the reed petals, be sure to use a little rtv on the intake gaskets when you reassemble it, and a leakdown test would be a good idea too, the intake/reeds is notorious for air leaks = boom !

Thanks!!!! Never used a forum before didn't know if it would be helpful you guys are great I've been trying to do it myself the carb itself seems really clean I only know the basics tho I'm having trouble finding he reeds tho I'm new to the blasters and atvs in general I work on landscape equipment so I have the understanding just not too much of four wheelers trying to learn a few things

the reeds are under the intake the carb connects to on the engine side, there's 4- 10mm bolts that need removed and the whole intake and reeds will pull out of the eingine intake
look for all 4 reed petals to be intact.
do not overtighten them 4 bolts when re-assembling. they strip easy, i think it's only like 5-1/2 ft. lbs torque spec

here's good carb cleaning guides......

5.8 ft lb diagonally and incrementally, which means a little at a time on each bolt other wise the cage may warp and leak even with sealant on it.

welcome to BF bro.
keep us posted what ya find tomorrow !!!

So I found the reeds removed them some of them don't seem to be sealed but are intact one has a small chip but it doesn't seem to be harming the function of the reed so I don't know what I should do next should I still replace them? If so where can I buy some that will fit my machine? Thanks

I rigged a little test not sure how reliable it is but I put a funnel onto a line and sent compressed air through it and no air came through the other side so I guess the reeds are ok could the top end be a problem? Or am I way off in thinking that?

Can send a picture if that helps?

time for a compression test, re-assemble the reeds/intak/carb, attach compression tester, hold throttle wide open and kick till the needle stops moving
report results here

autozone and advance auto will both lend you a compression tester for a refundable deposit

Idk who you are but you are a great guy everywhere else I went nobody was any help I really appreciate it I got screwed buying the wheeler the guy told me a few things were wrong and I fixed them and the thing still doesn't work I'm glad to see there still are some kind and super knowledgable people out there! Will let you know tomorrow if I can get a compression tester and give you the results!

So I got the tester and put everything back together (hopefully the right way) i ran the compression tester 3 times and got 130 psi all times

thats excellent compression readings, sounds like everything internally is good I:I
lemme reveiw this thread, the symptoms you've listed and those eliminated by tests, then we'll move on to some other causes
