03 blaster 200cc with fmf pipe/silencer. Was going to buy this quad from friend who said it was fine.
first tried to kick start it with no luck. tried new plug didn't work.
bump started it after new plug still no luck. we were towing it behind truck slow speed and engaging first or second gear to bump start it. once clutch was let off it would drag wheels and bog down.... never had that happen in a bump.
Did compression test and got back 90psi.
tore into top end and found pins to hold rings almost worn down completely. but not terrible?
ordered new kit for top end.
the oil that was overflowing from crank case was very cloudy grey and not clean, not good i guess. trying to drain that now. how much goes back in? and does any one think it is a bottom end? there is no play in the rod but concerning factor is frozen wheels during bump start and not starting. please help as i am new to blasters. should i take off crankcase cover?

Thanks for any help

Should start with the kick starter within 3 kicks using the choke.
You should never have to bump start it. If you find that you have to bump start it use 4th or 5th gear. Easier to do.
The pins that locate the piston rings don't actually touch the cylinder walls.
A complete disassembly and inspection is due.
Too many issues here. Any photo's?

Too many questions are on our end, because of so many variables... Help us help you.
Give us a DETAILED run down about the quad.
Modifications?
Stored outside?...etc
Was the engine recently worked on? ...etc.
???
A top end kit isn't going to fix anything.
Need photos of ...piston, cylinder, engine, quad, etc.

It's a 03 blaster with fmf pipe. Just purchased it from a guy. He never did any motor work that I know of. He had it sitting out side from what I found out. Oil doesn't look like it's ever been changed.
Intake reeds had a little gap in them so I just got new ones. The picture I'm posting is of oil from the crank case minus the leafs from my garage. I'm assuming it was seized up is why the wheels locked up and it won't start. . . Bottom end rebuild ?

Cancel your order on top end !! It needs to be inspected and measured to determine size of new piston needed.
The oil for trans got oil in it. :(
Don't buy cheap Egay junk cylinder and piston kit Did I mention they are junk? That's right, totally garbage junk.
