i just bought a blaster and rebuilt the carb back to stock again. the quad has no mods. it ran fine until this afternoon. out jumping and it died on the way home. cant get it started again. it has great spark but no fuel to the plug. kinda frustrating cause i really like it but already f-ed up.

take some premix and manually spray some fuel into the air filter side of the carb then kick it over see if shell run for a second. if it does check ur fuel supply to the carb and if its got fuel to the carb take it back off and make sure ur floats not stuck and to see if u did something wrong. check the reeds while ur that far

i checked the carb and the float isnt sticking and the reeds look fin. ill try the premix gas on the air filter side of the carb. cant get a compression test cause the nearest place is over 150 miles away. any way to check it without buying a special tool? could the top end be blown cause it started idleing REALLY high before it quit on me. ill get back to you after i try the spary in the carb

still nothing. it wont even try to start and it has good spark and i checked the reeds they look almost new still. any clue what it could be. im thinking it could be just the top end going out. i can kick it and it feels weird like it doesnt turn all the way over. idk what the prob is and its so confusing

check your fuel petcock (lol)......there are 2 filters in there...one is for ON and one is for RESERVE...on mine, my ON was clogged and i could only get fuel through my RESERVE line....i was like WTF!!!! and i check that and it was clogged up by paper, piece of duct tape...lol weird right>???

well the carb is getting gas but it isnt making it to the clyinder. i cleaned the carb AGAIN and still not getting fuel to the plug. the plug isnt wet or nothing after i kick it about ten times. the petcock looks fine. no blockage or anything

stipped the top end off and some weird markings on the piston and cylinder. i think it was rubbing it. it still wont run and still not getting fuel to the cylinder

so did you do compression with the top end togather? or ever try starting it with a spray bottle? sounds like you have a problem inside but that doesn't explain why your not getting fuel though the carb, if you take the line off the carb with petcock open the fuel should run out, if not then somthings up in your carb float stuck shut? plugged needle and seat or something in that passage, as far as the jug yes we need pics to see what's up

I'll post the pics as soon as i get them. i might not be able to post any because my father has the cylinder and piston with him at the shop. fuel flows fine threw the petcock and the carb fills with gas. the compression was about 80 psi.

When you did the test, did you hold in your throttle all the way (WOT) and kick it til the arrow or pointer stopped at a specific number??? awful low...

i took it to a shop in the nearest town to me and a few guys had a shop and they checked it. it turns out the bike hasnt been rebuilt in about 2 years. is that a good thing? its been rode pretty hard during those years. my dad is getting it honed today and new rings just to be on the safe side

make sure that when you hon it that there's not to much piston to cylinder clearness .002 to .003,1/2 please or you will be doing thing all over again really soon i would make sure i bet that piston is a lot smaller then it was 2 years ago just a new ring might just be a band-ad make sure to much clearness and you could blow the piston in to a million pieces

well got the blasty rebuild today. she runs like a dream. turns out that the cylinder wall had to be honed out and a new piston. so i went ahead and bored her out to next size up from stock. idk what size it is but the next up. and the oil pump was shot. thats what caused it to die on me. didnt have enough compression to pull in the fuel from the carb is why it would start up again. thank yall for the help though.
