Also would a blaster beat a stock 2006 honda recon?
That's primarily the other wheeler I would be riding around with and would like to be able to beat it in a race, lol.
Also, when I go to look at, what should I watch out for? I.E. obvious things that would make it totally not worth while? Shift through the gears, make sure it rolls in neutral? try to start it?
lol sorry just don't wanna get taken for a ride.
Did you rebuild the whole thing or just the top end? It kinda sounds like the bottom ends are usually OK?
So would something like this-
Yamaha Blaster Wiseco Top End Rebuild Kits from RJATV
Be what I need? What else is needed for a rebuild?
Thanks.
Um, I guess it depends on the price. But it'd be fun to make it a bit faster. I would probably be repainting it.
Do these engines get to a point where they can't be rebuilt? Because a new engine looks a lot more expensive then just rebuilding the top end.
OK so it is a '91.
Here's more info:

Right, he probably did blow it up, I mean anybody could put that little amount of effort into it.
so get it, tear it down and figure out what's wrong? $300 a fair offer?
yamaha blaster 1991
Title says 1991, and I wouldn't be paying $550 for it.
Any insight to the difficulty of working on these would be appreciated if anybody can give me their two cents:)
