yes, it could be the stator. i had to change one in a 98 blaster. its not hard but you need a flywheel puller. i got the stator on ebay for $50.

Im not sure what the needle is at. The mixture screw is out 1 1/2 turns. The reason i say it is lean is the pro shop that i had it done at says that when i put it in 3rd gear and give it full throttle it should bog down and then drop the jet one size at a time until it doesnt bog down anymore.

Yes i am pre mixing 32:1 I think the pump went out before and thats why the piston broke into pieces which is why i had to rebuild it.
