What is the differece between an OEM reed and an aftermarket upgrade? Would an upgraded reed require a jetting change or a filter change?

New owner of a 2003 Blaster. Runs great with the airbox lid off. I've been told I need to change my reeds. Should I look to change anything else while I'm doing this? If I use a reed other than stock, do I need to make any other changes/adjustments? I'm not looking build this quad...
