yz 250

Somebody else did the swap with a stock yz250 and they said its mentalll! they said they had to gear it wayywayywayyy down and it still pulls wheelies.

The reason im asking....is i have a buddy that wants a 240 big bore blaster motor....and he doesnt believe me that the yz250 motor would be more powerfull. I know it takes more to swap the motor in..

The vibration thats created with the noncounter balanced bike motor wouldn't make a very good trail bike. It would just be better to build up the blaster motor, imo.

well ya it going to vibrate but its not like holy sh*t my hands will fall off hahahaha it would take time to get use to i was going to put a yz motor in my blaster till my father changed his mind.

We can handle some vibration.... He wants to build a killer motor for it.....he was thinking a yz465.....But im thinking the late 90's early 2000 2 stroke yz250 would be just as bad....

ya my dad has a yz250 with the ohlins 360 bore kit..... you can put a y465 the one guy on here has on with a yz400 i think its paulie b i think.

if you waste a perfectly good yz250 engine to put in a blaster frame you are very smart to begin with. Esp. if its newer. if its a older engine then that is understandable, but a newer one? how bout no

i agree with gscx...number one, yz250 engines are high dollar. i just had to buy a lower end for one of my yz's and the cheapest one i found (tranny, crank and case assembled) cost me 300 dollars. If you have a late 90's to early 2000's engine i wouldnt be wasting all that fabrication time it would take to install into a blaster frame..spend a few hundred bucks and get an older yz frame..if ya wanna know where to get one send me a PM...I have a few leads on a couple rolling frames for cheap. a bike frame is where that engine belongs. a yz engine is a f*cking POWER HOUSE , especialy in a light bike frame....
thats just my personal opinion, im an owner of both so im just speaking from personal experiance .
also dont forget that that yz engine is liqued cooled..so somewhere youll need room to mount a cooling system...that may be difficult. i bet my yz motor is atleast 4 inches taller then my blaster motor. from base to top of head...it has the coolent hose that also has to go into the head and that takes up room as well. that would be hard to push in a blaster frame.

i just asume put a honda 250R engine in it, since they are geared for something bigger anyway. And daniel, know anyone that wants to trade a yz250 for a 2001 yz426?

If you go with the yz 250 motor itll be bad ass trust me, I had a rm250 motor in a blaster frame and it was crazy fast. It can be done but like daneil3877 said you do have to get a cooling system in and mounted which was a lil difficult for me but not the hardest. Youll be impressed with the final product if you do it.

Why would you do that?? Why waste your time fitting a 250r motor in a blaster frame? Buy a 250r frame if ne thing, way better suspension than a blaster. ecspecially if you got the 250 motor your already half way to having a badass quad.
