yz 250 top end on blaster bottom end?

i have herd from some people that a yz 250 top end out of a dirtbike will work on a blaster bottom end if you put a radiator and water pump in it and i was wondering if anybody has ever done this and what it all takes if it is even possible

Hmmm. I've heard of a dt200 head on a blaster but a yz250 sounds a little out there

the yz250 top end on a TRI-Z bottom end was a popular combination. as for the blaster..you would need an OLD top end, with no power valve (unless you can do some serious machine work) and get ahold of a dt200 clutch cover and waterpump, plus have a gear made. it can be done but it wont be cheap. some of the older IT top ends will fit but dont really offer any benefits.

limitations are time, money and imagination.. if you ever held up the ct sonic cylinder next to a honda factory works old aircooled "special" cylinder you would go..hmmmmmmm

do you gota do anything with the motor mounts or pipe to get the yz250 motor to work

i would imagine the stroke on a yz250 would be different, as would the deck height, so you would need a different rod and would have to play with the ports, maybe mill the bottom of the cylinder......
