Yamaha badger

i have a mid 80s yamaha moto-4 Badger 80cc. its a 4 speed and it has had alot of work done on it. for some reason the engine is bogging down or something because it wont get enough power and speed to get it out of 2nd gear! and ive watched youtube vids with this quad and that thing flys! well, for an 80 lol. but if anyone has any suggestions anything would help thx

Thats okay, if its running good you'll probably just blow the rear end.....LOL

^^^^very true...i have one and i bet ive rebuilt the rear in it at least 5 times....

what do you mean rebuild the rear end? and i have a brand new carb in it so cleaning it is out of the question

they are shaft drive and never hold up very long...the first time it blew out i bought all the parts new and did it the right way which cost i think like 500 bucks....after it blew the 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th time i just grinded the chewed up gears down and welded new ones back on and grinded them down to the correct size and shape...
