does anyone know if yamabond 5 will work for sealing the crankcase, i know most people use yamabond 4 but the dealership only had 5 in stock and i was in a hurry.

Threebond 1194 is what I use for them, yamabond 4/threebond 1104 have been discontinued...the 1194 is the replacement
the yamabond 5 only lasted for like 4 or 5 months it started to leak on the bottom of the motor right below were the crankshaft rotates. and i didnt install the crankshaft seal right because it is starting to leak now. i will take the motor out and take the cylinder off and the clutch and the flywheel off to save money on labor and let the atv shop do it this time.
im pretty sure yamabond4 is back out now...they were sufficing some red loctite stuff for a while...pretty sure i heard 4 is back out...idk ive had my 4 for about a year...time for a new tube i guess..lol...my dealer did give me a tube of the red stuff...works great on my base plate.
The anerobic sealer made by permatex works to. My dealer was out of 4 also and its been working fine now for almost a yr. found out a lot of the machinists use it for transmissions and transfer cases for the auto industry and it's red too.
