Its probably a stupid question but if the woodruff key is broke that will keep the blasty from getting spark right?

I just pulled my flywheel off (strange though, it slid right off without a puller but looks to be totally in tact). My woodruff key was clean in two.

you will definitely need a new wood ruff key because without it it will run like garbage. check to make sure there is a thick washer behind the bolt. here is a like for a new one. torque bolt to 53 ft lbs with tusk tool

If the Woodruff key has broken I would suspect the tapers are misfitting.

Before you replace the key it may pay to lap the flywheel to the shaft to provide an interference fit.

Lap the fly wheel and tighten to the correct torque. The key is only to line it up to the correct position and not made to keep it from rotating on the shaft.
