I purchased a blaster today for $200 in non running condition. i did a compression test and it was showing about 100psi. it wont turn on when using the kick start but when push started the engine fires and it begins to backfire and it even spit a flame as there is no exhaust on it and then it dies soon after. You cant get it to stay running. i checked for spark at the plug but the spark that it was making looked very small and weak. what can cause that? does it sound like a fuel issue or a spark issue or can it be the motor that needs to be worked on. Also during the process of getting it started somehow the case around the clutch cracked. i attatched pictures . crack is in third picture next to clutch lever

?
that thing has issues:)
where is the stud for the cylinder base?
the crack is on the flywheel side...not clutch side..that is the clutch actuator that run across to other side.
you should not run it without the header pipe, bad idea.
100psi is on the lines of a new top end,but......

there is some serious riggin done to that only from this 1 pic i see this

cracked case
missin cylinder stud
coat hanger on the front sprocket
dont know if oil injected line is plugged off just see a hose.
crank case vent is open to some serious water/dirt
and obviously the intake boot is off carb:)

there is no way you can ride that with cylinder stud/nut missing.
that is 1 reason compression is low
it is a major airleak and it is going to warp things as well.

you have come to the right place for help:)

cracked case in that spot will just let water in on your stator and flywheel
which is the electrical, plus the clutch cable attaches to that stud sooo your clutch is not going to work without that bracket...Im mean you should replace it,and that side off case either the people could not get a stud to thread in there or never put one in.

that thing needs a complete overhaul:)

ok so i will pull the motor out and put a new stud in place. can i seal the crack somehow or should i buy a new case and if i do what is the name of the case so i can order it. in the meantime im also going to clean out the carb and replace the plug as well. anything else you reccomend. do i have to rip the motor apart?

when you pull the top end off
and look at it you will probably be able to answer that ? lol
others will reply give it time.
for 200 bucks as is/ it is going to cost a bit more to have a suitable ride

Wow! That things a mess. I would be curious to know what let loose and caused the crack. Flywheel came off? So you didn't get any exhaust with it? If the rest of it looks as bad as what you're showing us, you're gonna easily dump $1,000 into it before you know it.

I can't belive that someone stuck the carb vent line on the oil injection spout. Probably the same person that put the coat hanger on the sprocket.

i did get an exhaust with it but it just needs to be installed. i havent ripped it apart to see as to why the crack was caused. if its going to cost me much its not worth the rebuild. the rest of the bike actually looks fine.

In the 2nd pic, the brake cable is missing. I'm surprised he gave it to you. Most people throw them away when they quit working.

take that plastic cover off/use a fat screwdriver or it will strip the head of screw
and look at it..look for broken stuff lol there is no oil held on that side,it is okay to take it off:)
as far as sealing it...everything will be temporarily no advice on that.
i would take top end off and see what is going on with that stud first cuz that is part of the 'left side case half'

i appreciate the help. im going to take everything off and rip it apart. ill try to fix every little problem and issue i can find and then put it back together and see if it runs.

On your carb, I noticed the vent hose is hooked up to the oil injection nipple. Move that over to the vent tube, and block that oil injector off with a vaccumm cap.
