How easy did your quad start after a topend rebuilt? I finished putting mine back together after it has been apart for almost a year. Im getting spark and i put a bit of fuel(oil at 32:1) in the gas tank. Im getting nothing. When i kick it over i can hear a squeaking sound which i cant really find where its coming from. Should i put some fuel in the cylinder? Starter fluid? More then just a little bit of gas in the fuel tank?

Whats absolutely nessesary for the atv to fire? Apart from spark/fuel and compression of course.

Does the chain have to be on even when its in neutral?

Make sure if you still have the tors crap hooked up that everything is pluged in. If there is a key make sure its on. Also make sure the throttle cable is dialed in. There lots more to try!!!! When we did a rebuild the tors f___ed me! Its long been uliminated:) Keep me filled in..

No tors to be seen on my quad. There is a kill switch and i have it engaged and i get spark.

Prior to rebuild the quad had been sitting for over a year (engine apart on my table). What could happen in this time period? maybe some gas gelled up in the carb or something?

the squeak could be an air leak, assuming you lubed the cylinder wall, piston, and rings prior to topend assembly i had a squeak once turned out I had blown the base gasket on the jug it was a biotch to start once that happened too, im guessing your experiencing similar issues. everything was torqued to spec upon assembly, right?

Cleaned the carb and she started up. Now heres the problem. I dont have the chain on yet but when in neutral if i hold the drive sprocket is doesnt spin (its not supposed to) however when i hold the clutch in when im in gear... i cant seem to hold the sprocket from moving.

I replaced the clutch as the old one had been slipping. However I over tightened one of the bolts with the spring and the head broke off (cant even get the threads out with screw extractor. So i left the 4 others there hoping it will be alright. Could this be the problem? Maybe i over torqued the bolts?
